1)  Snowmobiling

Rent a brand new Polaris snowmobile at Power Lodge Adventures (https://www.powerlodgebrainerd.com/rentals) or Nisswa Adventure Rentals (https://www.nisswaadventurerentals.com/). The Brainerd Lakes Area has over 1,200 miles of groomed snowmobile trails. The trails are groomed regularly by the local snowmobile clubs and are easily accessible to visitors. Remember to check the trail conditions.

2) Snowshoeing – Cross Country Skiing – Down Hill Skiing – Tubing

Explore beautiful and scenic groomed trails. The below cross-country trails are widely varied and challenge all skiing levels. Minnesota Ski Passes are required for most trails.

Mount Ski Gull, home to the largest tubing hill in the state of Minnesota, is 12 miles from the resort and offers 12 runs of fun for downhill skiers and snowboarders of all levels, ranging from beginner to expert. This is a great spot for the kids! Drop them off while you do you!

Paul Bunyon State Forest – Paul Bunyan State Forest’s 105,113 acres feature a terrain that’s rough and hilly, with many tiny ponds and bogs. The State Forest offers hiking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and ATVing.

4) Nisswa 100 Cross Country Snowmobile Race – January 14 & 15, 2023
This race will be based just outside of Downtown Nisswa.  The Nisswa 100 Course will be a mixture of lake, ditches, woods & fields and approximately 50 miles in length. You don’t want to miss this one-of-a-kind fishing event!!! The first contest was held in January 1991. The founders never expected the event would become the world’s largest ice fishing contest and put Brainerd, MN, on the map. The winter event generates over $1 million in revenue for area businesses and over $150,000 for area charities annually. Over $3 million has been donated since its inception.

From snow golfing to dancing on a frozen lake, another Minnesota must! The Gull Lake Frozen Fore Winter Weekend takes place in the Brainerd Lakes Area each February. This three-day celebration of all things winter brings together a weekend of activities and fun for adults.
